Sandune Data Systems was started in 1987 to provide programming services and computer support to small business and other organizations in Colorado's San Luis Valley - home of Great Sand Dunes National Monument.  Sandune Data Systems' name was chosen because the office is located just a few miles south of the entrance to the Great Sand Dunes.

Sandune Data Systems has had to change and adapt as the computer world has changed -- from a time when most small business computers used the CP/M operating system, to IBM's impact on small computers and the resulting changeover to IBMDOS/MSDOS, to the introduction and eventual move to Windows as business' preferred operating system, to the explosive growth and change in the internet from an obscure researcher's tool to an integral part of our daily work and play.
